Flickr ou 500px, on peut se demander pourquoi acheter un livre photo. Pourtant, jamais autant de livres photos n’ont été publiés. Paradoxe?

Quoi qu’il en soit, nous pensons fermement qu’il a des raisons d’acheter un livre photo. En voici 5, au travers d’un exemple: en l’occurrence j’ai choisi Chemin(S) de Pierre Schmidt.

1) Ce n’est pas qu’une image fugitivement affichée sur un écran, mais un objet d’art en tant que tel. Auquel on peut recourir autant qu’on veut, sans problème de connexion, batterie ou autre aléa informatique.IMG_2122

2) Le livre permet de voir une oeuvre telle que son auteur l’a vu, puisqu’il en a défini le rendu final ainsi que celui de ses images. Qui ne dépend pas de la taille de l’écran ou de sa luminosité. L’image et son arrière-plan sont entièrement définis par l’auteur, ce qui permet au lecteur de se focaliser sur l’œuvre sans être distrait par le menu de navigation, le nombre de vues ou de « likes ».

3) Le livre offre une expérience qui mobilise un sens de plus: le toucher. Avoir un livre entre ses mains, soupeser le grammage du papier, sentir le grain du papier, tout cela ajoute du sens et vient compléter la vue des images.

4) Un livre est l’occasion de partager de manière plus tangible l’univers d’un auteur que vous appréciez, qui vous inspire. Le livre passe de main en main, de celles du créateur à celle du spectateur, tel le témoin dans une course de relais. C’est également l’occasion de demander à l’auteur une dédicace, petit acte de personnalisation qui approfondi un peu plus le lien de complicité auteur d’un amour pour le sujet photographique.IMG_2121

5) Parce que placer un beau livre dans sa bibliothèque, c’est acquérir un confort pour le futur puisqu’on pourra non seulement consulter le livre à sa guise, mais l’avoir sous la main pour le partager avec des amis de passage, ou encore avoir le sentiment agréable d’être riche d’une sélection de témoignages de la beauté du monde.

Bref, vous l’aurez compris, je pense qu’avoir un beau livre photo à portée de main, c’est un excellent moyen de voyager d’univers en univers, le tout bien confortablement assis dans son canapé.
